Expressions Vinyl Winner
Reuse Challenge GreenSmart™ Giveaway
I don’t know about the rest of you but I have a lot of ‘stuff’ in my work bag. See?

Lets see here, Wallet, iPod, Lip Gloss, shopping bags, coupon envelope, toiletry bag, magazine, luna bar, business cards, cough drops, to-go ware, and my iPad… Yeah I think that about covers it, that also describes my problem, its full and cluttered and I have a hard time finding exactly what I need. Not anymore! Check I got a new bag from Green Smart ™
First let me tell you a little bit about the company. I think the best way would be this direct quote from their philosophy page on their website.
Reduce – Recycle – ReinvestReduce our resource consumption in every activity we conduct.Recycle everything that can possibly achieve additional life as is or in another form.Reinvest in organizations that are working toward protecting our planet. At GreenSmart™, we try every day to make the world greensmarter. From the designs we create, to the materials we use, to how we manufacture and ship our products, we put everything we do through our GreenSmart™ filter. We believe that even the smallest of positive actions every day can result in big changes toward a better product and a better environment in the long run. It is a pursuit of best practices for us. We have been doing it since we started back in 1995.

Based on that fact I thought the fabric would be stiff and course, I couldn’t be more wrong. It is soft and flexiable, perfect for a messanger bag. Here is my bag.

I thought the green was a good mix of fun and yet professional but they also have black and orange.

See how everything fits so neatly.

It really is the perfect bag for me. I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on it and you should see peoples faces when I tell them its made from recycled bottles.

Thoughts on Thursday:Don’t Lie
Back in grade school I used to lie, ALOT. I’m not sure why exactly but I’m guessing it was a way to get attention. One day a friend pulled me aside in the bathroom and talked straight with me. She said everyone knew I was lying and that made them not want to be friends with me. I wasn’t cured over night but that was a life changing moment for me.
I’m telling you this so that you don’t think I’m attacking anyone (certainly not Mac.)
Don’t Lie. Simple enough right? I would think so for adults but I’ve been proven wrong recently. Because of my past and my upbringing this is a very big deal to me. I don’t like being lied to, not only because of the untruth itself but because of the lack of trust it creates. I don’t want to go around fact checking everything someone tells me.
Lying not only harms a marriage it can distroy it. The same holds true for friendship, bussniss relationships and parent child relationships. Just don’t do it.
Green Challenge: ReUse Week 4
Also I’m sorry about any formatting issues, we hare having some weather here and it is causing some internet problems.
Ok I want to talk a little more about this concept of reuse. I’ve been highlighting a lot of ways to upcycle things but you don’t have to change something to reuse it. What if your blender breaks down? Instead of replacing it and throwing away the old one, fix it. Look for replacement parts or fix the problem if its simple. This will save you both time and money. Another way to reuse things without redoing them is to buy used, clothes, decorations just about anything can be found at a garage sale or thrift store.
I forgot to take a picture but this week we got Mac a new desk chair off of craigslist for $14.00 (with our parking fee.) It is a faux leather excutive chair with arms (that was the problem with my old one I broke the arms off.) Woo Hoo!
I also solved a problem I’ve had in my office for a while now. I covered cardboard boxes in paper and vinyl and made a garbage and recycling pail.

On to the feature project of the week. Check out this great former bedside table turned counsul by Kristin at High Heels and a Hammer. It went from so very 70′s to so modern with just a can of spray paint!
On to your linked up projects from last week since Halloween is this week I will start with those projects.
First we have these cute Lanterns from Krystal at Puppies and Pacifiers:
Next check out these great trick or treat bags made out of boxers made by Shannon @ Shannon Makes Stuff.
Next we have a great storage box made from those awful styrofome trays from Michele Made Me.
Last but not least we have these two great clothing items.
A ruffled tee from A Stichy Situation
Plus another great remake from her this Ruffled Poncho

Thanks you 4! For posting on my linky party last week you call get an extra entrie in the wrap up party on Friday so look for that its going to be a great giveaway.
