Projects for this weekend.

I have two projects I want to get done this weekend first is to make my own photo backgrounds for my crafty posts (and others I’m sure.) Check out these great backgrounds that Lemon Squeezy Home designed.

See that blue and yellow one? It is spray paint free and since its still winter here in MN that is the one I”m going to make.

My other goal for this weekend is to create a gallery wall like this one from I Am Momma-Hear Me ROAR. This wall gives me permission to not be all matchy match…which I do far too often.

Thanks ladies for your inspiration.

Thoughts on Thursday: Coming home.

Ok so this may be fueled a little by Mac being gone for a few weeks but I find myself so very excited to go home to him! Mac works some early hours so when I go home he is there!

So here is my thought of the day, when ever you get home make sure to take a minute, just a minute, to acknowledge your spouse. Say hi give them a peck, check in on their day. It’s so easy just to get busy around the house and ignore them. Tonight when you get home greet your spouse.

Preping for a garden

So the last few days here have been in the 40′s and although I know we are going to have snow again soon enough I’m still dreaming of my garden and even starting to get ready for it.

This year for the first time ever I’m going to be  starting some of my seeeds indoors.  So I bought this ‘seedling light’ to set up in my laundry room.  It is made by Hydrofarm and is the Jump Start T5  2 foot model. I don’t know if its the best one out there but it is the one I can justify purchasing at this point in my gardening adventure.

I also bought 100% Organic starter pots that will degrade when I plant them in real soil.
I found some great information about when to start my seedlings from this report via the University of Minnesota. It may not help many of you but I bet you can find similar research done in your states.
At this point I’m planning on Tomatoes, Cherry Tomatoes, Green Beans, Peppers Sweet and Hot, and Carrots.  I’m also planing herbs including: Cilantro,  Basil, Parsley, Mint, and Thyme. I think I’m going to go organic since I will have full control and at this point I’ve ordered  a Burpee and a High Mowing seed catalog anyone else I should look into?
So far it looks like I’ll be getting my seeds from High Mowing and my organic starter and fertilizer from Burpee. More on the seed choices later, but if you have any suggestions let me know.

Green your Routine Winner

Well I can’t do any full posts right now since I”m waiting on my new computer, but I  can tell you who won the Green your bathroom routine hint challenge.  Random.org picked number 8 but since I’m at work I can’t save a screen capture so you will just have to trust me.

The winner is Jen C! Here is her hint:

My bathroom routine is very similar to yours…except I don’t wear contacts or use lotion (though I should since winter weather dries my skin out). I usually take really quick showers so that I don’t waste water by standing around in the shower. In the winter, I shower every other day (days when I go running) since it’s cold and I don’t sweat at all during the day. Jason and I also brush our teeth at the same time so that we only have to run the facet once to rinse and wash our faces.

Great tips on being green!

Congrats you will get an e-mail from me soon

Water+Mackbook Pro= :(

Yeah My computer is dead, I’ll be back next week after my new one arrives and I can hopefully restore everything.
