I’m still here. (You Capture)

As always the days after a big paintball tournament are filled with photo sorting/editing and uploading but I’m still here, and will be back to blogging soon!

Here are some of my favorite pics from the recent Chicago event.

This guy dislocated his shoulder went to the hospital and played in the finals the next day.

PS these are all my pictures just from my other website.

Thoughts on Thursday: Admit when your wrong

This one is hard for both Mac and I. We don’t like being wrong, we would rather be right…duh.  But lets face it, in most situations if we can’t both be right (that is if we disagree with each other. ) We need to be able to rationally evaluate the other persons opinion and we will see that maybe in fact they do have the better idea.

Case and point, I stink at names, and I”m just learing the whole paintball world. I get confused alot and that could make our website look bad. So even though I think “I can do this”  in reality I need to have Mac’s help it is best for the business, it is best for us. I don’t “know it all” I can’t, at least not yet ;)

If we could just admit when we are wrong think of how much nicer, calmer and smoother life would be.

The Kleenex Hand Towel Scare

Have you sceen these kleenex commercials?

I feel like they are trying to scare me into using their wasteful, disposable products. How about this? Just wash your hand towels.

Its the end of the world!

Ok I know I”m a little behind in the times but forgive me I was in Chicago all weekend (and then driving home yesterday) being shot at by paintball players.

This “Judgement Day” crap, yes crap that is going on is a mockery of everything I believe in. I’ve been trying to read everything I can since I’ve been home trying to discern how this Harold guy thinks he knows not only the day but the hour of judgment, which by the way was wrong based purley on the fact that I sit here typing.

I firmly believe in the Bible, every word of it and pertaining to this I would like to reference Matthew 24 all of  it not just vs 36.  Lets start with 3-8

3As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the close of the age?” 4And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. 5For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. 6And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. 7For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8All these are but the beginning of the birth pains. (ESV)

Hummm I don’t think I need to go into that much more, I think its pretty clear.  How about 36-44?

36But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son,b but the Father only. 37For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 38For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, 39and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 40Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken and one left. 41Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one left. 42Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. 43But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. 44Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

Humm if NO MAN knows the day or hour and it will be ‘at and hour you do not expect’ they how does this guy know? Well he has an explanation for that that I have honestly just skimmed over (so no I have not read it entirely.) That uses a lot of single verses, which is never a good idea you don’t get the whole story. You can see that article here.

The reason all of this concerns me so much isn’t so much what he is saying (there are always going to be people saying something) its what it does to the faith in general. I’m seeing things like this pop up all over the web.

This is what comes of Churches obsessing over the end of the world and sin. instead of teaching how to get into heaven and how to be good people. they dwell on all the ways not to get there and use Revelations to keep their congregations living in fear. its something of a national Phenomenon.

so messages like this prey on the fears people have been taught to have, and then people like camping offer them a way to escape from the fear they created in the first place. http://www.survivalistboards.com/showthread.php?p=2801051

I hate that people think what I believe is based on fear when I think it is based on grace…This whole situation just makes me sad. Oh and did you see that this was just a “spiritual day of judgment” humm I’ve never heard of that one either.
