I got so annoyed on my last shopping trip, I really needed some summer time shirts that didnt’ make me look 12 and things are on sale now so yeah a shopping trip was in order.

To stay green I like to buy from consignment when I can but this was just one of those times that new was in order. I unfortunately can’t afford the organic and sustainable clothing I would like so off to the department store we went. I found a few things and when I arrived home I saw this magical tag:

Since you can’t read that it says: “Live and let live, Being realized and comfortable with everyone and everything. Each day is a special event to be received in a unifying way. Treat the world with the respect and love you want for yourself, and enjoy wearing our clothes.”

Sounds promising huh? nope I think it was like an 80/20 Polyester?Cotton blend…hardly earth friendly. Wow. This is something called green washing I’m sure I’ve talked about it before but for the life of me I can’t find that post. So just in case (from www.m-w.com)

So you have heard me talk about  Cooper before, he is our fluffy (even when shaved) lovey-dovey GoldenDoodle. See?

Well those fluffy ears cause a problem you see, they trap moisture and the get well, gross.  So we have a ear cleaner from our vet but its expensive and the smell isn’t so great. Cooper goes running whenever we get it out Poor Guy.

Not to long ago I got the chance to work with a company called “Best Pet Heath” First thing you notice is their website clean and professional, very important when I’m going to be ordering something for our ‘fur-child’ I want to know I”m getting quality not junk. The best thing for me was the ways you could find what you were looking for either by pet (Dog or Cat) or by product solutions.  I prefer the Product solutions page its so easy:

So I clicked on the ears and away we went. Right at the top of the page was exactly what I needed the ear care kit with dry cream! Perfect so that is what I got. We have used it twice so far (its been humid here which causes more problems.) and I really like it, in fact I think it may clean better than our old stuff…..

Cooper still runs away when we get out the storage bin, but I think that its because of the smell of the old cleaner. He still doesn’t like it but he dosent’ fight as much with the new stuff.

I’m thinking I’m going to get some of their anti-itch spray for his allergy bumps, I don’t like giving him people stuff.

Hey hon,

So I’m sitting at work fighting hot flashes, hip pain and a sore throat (humm why am I at work again? Oh yeah no sick time left grrr.) So anyway I was thinking about a conversation we had this week, the one where I realized that you look at all of our conversations through “blue” lenses, lenses that taint everything I say so that all you hear is your a bad husband. I’m so sorry that you had that experience before and I want you to know I don’t think your a bad husband. So what better way than to post it up for all to see (that way you know its for real.)

You Mr. Mac are a great husband. But lets face it no one is perfect and there are going to be some things you do that will bug me, or make me angry from time to time but  you are still a great husband. Here is why:

• You have not only suggested but insisted that I start taking care of myself. Making sure I said no to friends once in a while and other such nonsense
• You are my protector, seriously God help the person who ever tries to hurt me mentally, emotionally, physically. I have no doubt that would will do everything in your power to protect me.
• You are my faith inspiration, I wish I had 1/2 the Biblical knowledge you do.
• You taught me how to have fun again.
• You take care of me ( and Cooper) and the house too…when it gets bad or I make you….
• You love me.
• You love my crazy family.

These are just the tings I can come up with off the top of my very low functioning brain (since I”m sick and in pain) just imagine what I could com up with, if I had a little time and a full functioning brain…

So weeds are green the color but they aren’t so green as in Eco-friendly because we tend to resort to chemicals to make them go away.  This summer I’m trying a few other ways to get them out of my life and my yard. Of course there is the always reliable weed pulling but lets just face it that gets old. Plus if your trying to clean up your yard not say a garden its hard to just get the weeds and not the grass. Another time honored way to help prevent the growth of weeds is to mow your grass a little taller than ‘normal’ to prevent the sun from even reaching them.

But what if they are already there (like my yard I think the clover is taking over the world.) What do you do then? Well if the weeds are on a driveway or maybe in the rocks you can try a mixture of salt and vinegar, and a little bio degradable dish soap to hold it all together, and spray on the weeds. But remember salt is a growth inhibitor so done spray where you want anything to grow cuz it wont.

I haven’t found a good way to kill the weeds in mass once they have sprouted in your grass ( that is with out killing the grass.) So the best way is prevention, cut it high, use native grass to your area so its not struggling to grow.
