Its my Mom’s Birthday!
I was looking through posts from the last few years and I don’t think I ever recognized my Mom’s birthday…sad. Bad daughter 
But here it is May 1st 2012 and its her birthday! I”ll call her today of course but the real gift is this weekend. My parents are driving up for a quick overnight on Friday, then Saturday morning we are going to be running a Duathalon! We are running it team style which means this:
5k-Mom
20 Mile Bike Ride-Dad (Dad is a crazy biker but more on him on the 15th, his birthday)
5k-Me!
Whats really fun is this event is in between all 3 of our birthdays (1st, 2nd and the 15th) so its my present to both of them (next Monday I’ll show you the shirts I made us 
don’t want to spoil the surprise.
So anyway just a little about my Mom, she has an amazing heart, truly amazing. One of the coolest things she does is keep every wedding invitation she is sent on a shelf in her office. Then every morning when she is doing her devotions she says a prayer for each couple. I can’t remember how long she keeps them there I think a year or so. How cool for a couple to have their entire first year of marriage covered in prayer.
She is strong, this lady has been through a lot in her life. Without getting too personal, She has dealt with alot. Most of it she has taken in stride (one just has to sometimes) but the bigger things, the things I could she shattering another woman, she survived. I know she would give credit to God and her faith for bringing her through and that is very true. But I give credit to her for reaching out to God when times got tough and not walking away like so many do.
